The DIY Queen

Today I feel like a DIY queen.  I tackled some Pinterest.com projects that I have been itchin' to do.  I put together this beautiful (though I am biased) photo frame.

Homemade fabric softener with bounce sheets, Homemade furniture polish.  I am loving making my own cleaning supplies, I feel they are so much healthier for my family.  A lot of my cleaning ideas and some other great ideas right now are coming from my favorite blog http://www.onegoodthingbyjillee.com  you guys should check it out! That's where my fabric softner recipe comes from.  I will share it with you.  Jillee's calls for a much larger recipe and she used Rosemary Mint.  You Choose whatever your favorite smelling hair conditioner is :)

Homemade Fabric Softner with "Bounce" Sheets

3 Cups Hot water
1.5 Cups Vinegar
1 Cup Hair Conditioner of your Choice

Mix it all together.  Then for the bounce sheets I take "bar clothes" and cut them into 4's.  Roll them up and put them in the mixture.  Usually I just wring one out and throw it in the dryer.  If I need that extra boost (like when an accident happens at nighttime and the bedding needs washed) I will pour about 1/8 Cup of the mixture straight into the washing machine.

Homemade Furniture Polish

1 Cup Vinegar
1 Cup Olive Oil
1 Lemon

Mix Vinegar and olive oil.  Squeeze lemon, add juice to mixture.  Remove peel from the lemon and throw it in the bottle too!   Now I know some of you may be skeptical thinking it will mold  - but there vinegar in there keeps it from doing so (I have had orange peels in my All purpose cleaner bottle for a month!
Shake well before each use!

Well I think that I am DIY-out for now!
